It's a common practice this time of year to contemplate the things for which you are most grateful. As pet professionals, that gratitude list will probably look something like this:
- Work that you [hopefully] love
But now I want you to take that list and turn it around, and think about everyone who is grateful for YOU:
- That stranger whose day you brightened with a simple kindness
- And so on…
It’s only when you look at a gratitude practice from the other side that you can fully appreciate your own unique and extraordinary worth. As parents, friends, business owners, animal advocates, employees - you should never forget how many people love and value YOU, and how important you are to them.
Give thanks for everything you have, and accept thanks for who you are and everything you do. The world is a better place with you in it.
